What are Knot Works Massage tools and how do you use them...

Trigger Point Massage Egg 2 The Trigger Point Egg is a wooden tool that looks like a big egg. It can be used in many different ways to work out knotted muscles. The small end of the egg can be used for targeting deep trigger points while the larger side will cover a greater area for trigger points closer to the surface. To begin you will place the large end, the base, in the palm of your hand and press the small end, the point to a tender spot on your or your client's body. The large base prevents hand cramping by giving your hand a nice large area to grasp with your whole hand instead of just your fingers like other tools on the market.

Typically the Knot Works Trigger Point Egg is used on the neck, shoulder, chest and under arms but can be used anywhere on the body, including the face. Remember to adjust your pressure depending on the body part.

For areas of the back lie on a firm surface and tuck the egg on it's side underneath you. A good amount of tension is often relieved by placing the Knot Works Trigger Point Egg directly to the left or right of your spine at the level of your shoulders and raising your arm up above your head and horizontal to your body. This added movement of the arm places just the right amount of pressure to relieve the pain of one of the most common trigger point areas, the neck and shoulders. This same position also stretches your upper back muscles.

The Trigger Point Egg is also good for relieving sinus pressure by placing the small point very gently along the cheeks and various points on the face.

Trigger Point Massage Cushion 2The Trigger Point Cushion is unlike anything you've seen before. It was designed to give back, butt, hip, leg, psoas and thigh relief but it is also being used by many for their neck and shoulders with GREAT results.

How it works: Using your own weight while seated or lying on the cushion, the trigger point balls hidden within the cushion slowly unwind the knotted fascia, giving you muscle tension relief.

To start with I recommend you sit on the Trigger Point Cushion for about 10-minute sessions at a time. You can just sit on the cushion which has shown amazing results for lower back pain relief and psoas pain relief.

You might also sit on the Trigger Point Cushion and then slowly shift your weight from the left to the right holding for counts of 10 when you feel a tender spot. Always return to the center point for a short rest. Do this at least once a day for up to a 10-minute session and after 3 days you can begin sitting on it for longer periods of time. It is completely up to you how long you want to sit on the your Trigger Point Cushion.

I am still amazed myself, as the creator of the Trigger Point Cushion at just how easily and instantly lower back pain melts away when you use the cushion.

Massage Body Roller 2 The Body Roller is a wonderful wooden tool that is used by massage therapists for rolling the neck, shoulders, body, buttocks, legs and even the feet to get overall lengthening.

Feels great and works perfectly.

The Body Roller is also used by individuals to roll their own tight calve and thigh muscles and is also be placed on the floor to roll along the bottoms of your feet.

Tapping gently along the body for softening up your muscles (a massage therapy technique called tapotement) is also great with the Body Roller.

All of these Roller techniques promote circulation wherever you use it.

Trigger Point Massage Charts Set 2The Knot Works Trigger Point Charts were created specifically for MuscleTensionRelief.com through collaboration of an Artist and Licensed Massage Therapist.

Chart One shows the trigger points of the legs.
Chart Two shows the trigger points of the arms and torso area.
Chart Three shows the trigger points of the neck back and shoulders.

For your convenience they may be purchased individually or as a complete set of all three. Trigger point areas are clearly identified on each chart with a green dot so you know just where to look for spots that may be pain triggers.

Palm & Arch Massage Roller 2 The Palm and Arch Roller are a set of two small wooden rollers that are most commonly used on the self. A favorite of Massage Therapists for working the hands quickly in between massage sessions with clients. They are wonderful massage tools for anyone that over-uses their hands and feet.

The Palm Roller is the thinner of the two tools pictured on the left. It is used to massage and lengthen the muscles of your hand. It is used by putting the roller on a hard surface like a table or desk, then rolling it and your hand back and forth along the surface. Work all the way from the wrist to the fingertips. A popular favorite technique is to hold the Palm Roller between both hands and roll, massaging both hands at the same time!

The Arch Roller is the thicker of the two tools pictured on the left and is used to massage the plantar muscles of the foot. Roll the Arch Roller up and down the bottom of your often neglected feet one at a time and feel the soothing healing begin.

The Palm & Arch Roller are really interchangeable. If you want to use the Arch Roller on your hands and the Palm Roller on your feet, DO IT, that will feel great too! The difference in thickness between the two tools will simply give different sensations. That's why they come as a set because not only do I approve of switching them up I highly recommend it!
